tuesday shoesday: red soles.

A pair of Christian Louboutin that are casual enough to wear with a sun dress? I’ll take both of these beauties. They are no longer for sale on their official website as they have already sold out most of their spring/summer line (yeah, the fall line is already up) :(

tuesday shoesday: color me floral.

After breaking out my Marc Fisher floral stilettos for the ZOOtoDO fundraiser event at The Toledo Zoo, I was inspired to search for more floral. I received so many compliments on my shoes, the pain and suffering of walking around the zoo with those heels was totally worth it.

I bought these shoes last spring in hopes of wearing them on a dinner date to Ann Arbor with my boyfriend. I knew that this was the night that he was going to POP THE QUESTION. It ended up snowing 6-8″ that day and I felt sick. Needless to say, I didn’t get to show of my purple dress and sweet stilettos. But, he did ask me if I’d spend my life with him. I guess that’s more important and meaningful than a pair of shoes. Anyway, like I said,  I finally broke them in this past weekend.
Here they are . . .

So, after searching the internet all night for what’s out right now, I finally decided on a few that I’d like to share.

The first pair are designed by the crazy and creative, Betsey Johnson. I found them here. I wish they were still in stores:

The second pair are these Raffia rose printed peep toe heels from J.Crew and, from the looks of it, they must have sold out hours ago. : (

And finally, these Rocket Dog Oak Swiss Floral Pumps are for $59.95 are still up for grabs! I think I’m in love with them.

feeling hot, hot, hot!

My relationship with fluorescents may have started in the late 80s with my neon fanny pack (similar to what’s pictured below) but it has continued throughout my life. I clearly remember in 6th grade, I wore a fluorescent orange Nike pullover every single spring day. And, this became my favorite color of the summer. Then, just after high school, I found myself buying neon tees from Kohls. And, yes, I still have them.

So, this post comes from my love of bright colors and the fact that they are HOT this season. I’ve been seeing them in stores since January. See below for bright fashion finds that are sure to separate you from the crowd.

tuesday shoesday.

How could you go wrong with Italian leather? These sweet cream Pom-pom ballet flats are trimmed in melon, tipped with snakeskin and finished off with a beautifully, handcrafted chiffon flower. Yes, I said chiffon. Fancy! Click over to J.CREW to slip on these comfy, Italian flats.
I remember when I just graduated high school, my mom insisted on getting me a suit for interviews. Now, at the time, I was only interviewing for your traditional, just out of high school job. But, my mom insisted and, well, we all know, mother knows best.

She took me to Ann Taylor, the old lady store that I never imagined walking into and they treated me like a princess! They fitted me to my perfect suit size and presented me with many beautiful, professional and put together options. I remember the best part of my time there, the shoes! I will never forget those cork wedge pink sandals I wore around the store. The white suit we walked out with was enough for my mom’s checkbook. Sadly, we walked out without those shoes. Sigh.

Now, as an adult, I feel comfortable venturing back in to look at their shoe collection. I may swing by to try on these striped linen Peony Peeptoe heel. They are completed with a classic, yet stylish, ruched and knotted vamp.
PS. I ended up landing a job at a pizza joint that summer. And yes, I wore my flashy suit to the interview.
